Im trying to set up my live account but because i have a wireless laptop with only one router its saying i need a seperate IP adress.

Any idea how to set this up?

sorry, they are just both awful on their own let alone combined! try connecting via ethernet first and then try your wireless connection again

I use bt homehub and have no problems at all. Just plug your ethernet cable from your 360 into the back of your BT homehub into ethernet slot 1(its under the flap bit at the back) - you dont need wireless for it just because its a wireless router. I have my wii and ds access it wirelessly but my 360 attaches to it via ethernet.

same here. he may however has distance issues.

I haven't a clue what the 360s wireless adapter is like. Personally I think you'd have to be mad to splash out £60 on one of those unless you absolutely had no other means of getting on live otherwise.

Not sure if you need to do that.

I've got the Xbox wireless adapter and an old BT HG1800 router and mine works fine.

If your having problems then ring up BT. They'll ask you for your phone number and they'll know what router you have etc. and should find the problem out for you.

If you dont want to do that then type in the actual name of your router and something like 'xbox live problem' into Google and you should find a similar person with the same problem who may have sorted it/getting it sorted.

your windows software should ensure your IP addresses are dynamic. How you assign a fixed IP to your 360 I dont know
