Watched Napier batting for Essex, 152 not out from 58 balls, included 16 sixes. Got a bit of luck at times but great to see.

I thought the tv was shite tonight, but this was compulsive stuff.

Doubt i'll see a more brutal innings for a while. That said imo the bowling was shocking.

It had better not rain tonight, I'm off to the game and then town for a few beers.

If the ECB want to expand T20 then they could do it in a league run throughout the season so games are played on friday and saturday nights. County games held during the weekend and 50 over games should be on sunday.

I don't like the idea of messing around the 4 day game because its at such a high quality at the moment. The pro40 is pretty useless too.

My dad and uncle went to the game tonight.Reckon it was pretty good with some fantastic keeping rom New. They think he should keep that spot and let Nixon stay in the field.

Decent game, quite a handy start by DuToit and Dippenaar but we kind of blew it when they both got out within the space of a few balls. Taylor and Nixon struggled and it did look like we would have to settle for 135ish but Allenby played well and hit a few late blows to get us to 150. I think he was dropped on the boundary line and it went for 6 actually which was a bit of a let off.

Derbyshire only looked in the game for the first 6 overs, then Malik got Telo and there really wasn't a lot else for them to come. Hinds got 6 and out in consecutive deliveries and from then we put on the squeeze and got a comfortable win in the end.

I agree about New behind the stumps, he looked very sharp. Nixon has had a poor T20 series and has the pressure of captaincy too, maybe he should give up the gloves.

Agreed

I reckon Pro40 should be scrapped and the Trophy goes back to being a knockout cup over 50 overs. 4 day stays as it is during the week and then a T20 league over the weekend (you'd actually get decent numbers of travelling fans this way). However, I have yet to think of a decent plan as regards a 50over league.
