Chesterfield has signed Leicester City goalkeeper Adam Smith on one month's emergency loan to provide cover following injury to first choice 'keeper Tommy Lee who sustained a groin strain in the midweek game at home to Bury.

Tommy Lee is waiting the results of a scan but could be out for around four weeks.

Adam Smith, who is 18 years old, joined Leicester City last October from Middlesbrough Academy and in March 2011 was signed on a professional contract by the Foxes until 2014.

Leicester City has a 24 hour call-back during the period of the loan, which is due to end on 15 October.
