From Wiki ....

He left CSKA Sofia to join Leicester City. Sasho signed his contract on 05 July 2008. The transfer fee was 800 000 euros.

From todays BBC Gossip ...

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric is on the verge of completing an £800,000 deal for CSKA Sofia defender Aleksander Tunchev. (Daily Mirror)

Could be a good signing or totally useless

As for him signing for Leicester as opposed to a better club - we did sign Kaamark who'd played in a World Cup semi-final and was happy to play in the English 2nd Division :102:

Maybe it's as simple as that we were in the know about CSKA's financial position through MM's (or maybe Steve Walsh II's contacts) and were first to put the money on the table.

It doesn't sound as if 'player power' translates into Bulgarian and the poor fecker had no say in where he was going. If he is half as good as the Bulgarian fans suggest it's a good bit of business and may give us a better option than Macauley. Saying that I am also sceptical and await his debut with interest!

Lovely interview

Natsionalat Alexander Tunchev said to "Channel 3" that does not accept his transfer to Leicester in England is considered a rescue from CSKA. ". Branitelyat to end today in Bulgaria after yesterday signed by "foxes".

"I do not agree to transfer my Leicester as a rescue from CSKA. Normal is still anyone to think about their future. What happened in CSKA is more than enough. I hope everything there to make", commented Tunchev.

"England is England, even in this first division, which is our third. Kishishev In terms of football there was better than this with us. Such Stadium as Leicester have, in Bulgaria have no - even the National," said more zhelezniyat defender

funny enough, on the mercury news bar on the side, it said something like "he finally signs" but now it is removed and reading from Hazza interview notes, that he has rejected us!!!

Great!

Great!

Those notes are just poorly translated he is saying that he signed for us cause he wants to not just to save CSKA.

National team player Alexander Tunchev said to "Channel 3" that he doesn't accept the suggestion that is transfer to Leicester is just an escape from CSKA. Tunchev signed for the Foxes yesterday to end his CSKA career in Bulgaria.

"I do not agree that my transfer to Leicester is a rescue from CSKA. It's normal for someone to think about their future. What happened in CSKA is enough. I hope I make everything there (Leicester)", commented Tunchev.

"England is England, even in League One, which is our third division. Kishishev said in terms of football the quality was better there than in Bulgaria. A stadium which Leicester have is better than most in Bulgaria - even the National stadium"

I think that's what he meant.

Surely it isn't confirmed until the work permit's sorted out? Is that really such a formality as the club seems to think?
