The Irish Football Association has appointed Steve Beaglehole as manager of the Northern Ireland Under-21 and Under-19 teams.

Beaglehole, who is currently youth team and reserve team coach at Leicester City, will continue in that role, along with his new international commitments.

He has previously coached at Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.

Alfie Wylie will be U21 assistant boss, Christophe Moulin U19 assistant manager and Paul Kee the new U17 manager.

Pascal Vaudequin will take on the role of U17 assistant manager/coach.

Moulin is the IFA's County Fermanagh coach, Wylie is the National Women's coach and Kee County Coach Co-ordinator and County Tyrone coach.

Vaudequin is presently the County Antrim coach.

"We are very pleased that these people have accepted the posts with great enthusiasm and are looking forward to what is an exciting new challenge not only for them but for the IFA," said Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington.

Roy Millar lost his position as U21 coach at the end of April as part of a restructuring of the coaching framework of age group teams.

Under-19 manager Mal Donaghy and Under-17 boss Kenny Shiels also left their positions.

Re: Coach appointed Manager:

Glad to hear he'll be carrying on with us as well, hopefully it won't have a negative impact on the job he's doing for us.

Could mean we start signing up some good young Irish talent too ;)

I did. I didn't want the BM's thinking Taggs and Stowell were our new manager :icon_wink

I have to say when I saw the original title I did do a small double take, then thought not even MM would appoint Taggs. :icon_bigg
