Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer has today (Tuesday) joined Bristol City on a season-long loan, subject to Football League approval.

The 27-year-old joins a Bristol City squad with momentum following their recent promotion from League 1.

He will be available for selection in all competitions during the 2015/16 campaign, though Leicester will retain the option to recall him immediately.

After joining Leicester on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic last summer, Hamer made 10 appearances during his debut season for the Foxes, including eight in the Barclays Premier League.

He kept a clean sheet on his debut in a 1-0 win at Stoke City early in the season, before securing further shutouts in vital victories over Hull City and Aston Villa around the turn of the year.

He joins a Robins squad that made its Championship return with a 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Cotterill’s side travel to Luton Town in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, before hosting Brentford in the Championship on Saturday.

He's started tonight's League Cup game at Luton.

He's now a referee??

Just seen the 4 goals scored by Brentford and Hamer was poor.

I'm shocked by that, because according to some on here (who obviously profess to have a better understanding of football than both Pearson and Ranieri) claim that he should be our Number 1.

Ben Hamer gave away the penalty from which Leeds took a first-half lead in tonight's game. Sounds as though he had little option though as Leeds had a four-on-one breakaway.

Chris Wood has made it 2-0 now

So the pundits/bookies choices for the managers job at Leicester occupy two of the bottom 3 places in the Championship.....

Returning due to bring dropped to the bench. Expecting to go back out on loan somewhere else. Maybe Forest have got a couple of quid together by now?
