BHX or EMA - flights help

Notts Fox is not online, so thought I'd ask here.

Coming over for the Portsmouth game, want to fly early from Dublin on Friday the 18th March. There are early Ryanair departures to East Midlands Airport as well as Birmingham. The Birmingham flight is about one and a half hour earlier, which would be nice as I want to be in Leicester as early as possible on Friday, and also slightly cheaper but thinking it might be a lot more hassle to get from BHX to Leicester?

Birmingham is probably 45 minutes by taxi, but to get the train (I think) you have to go into Birmingham New Street and change trains.

There also may be a National Express bus from Birmingham, but someone else may know more.

You'd probably lose the 90 minutes in getting from Brum to Leicester. Plus the cost difference will be count acted against.

Do the East Midlands flight and use Skylink.
