It strikes me that it is far too early in the season to have had 7 bookings and that we will suffer because of it. If Richie Wellens carries on at the same rate, he will have served his first suspension before the middle of September.

It seems that Nigel Pearson agrees with me. From the Leicester Mercury:

Nigel Pearson will have to put a lid on Leicester City's indiscipline ahead of tonight's Championship clash at Sheffield United (7.45).

City have collected six cautions in their opening two league games and the City boss admitted: "I don't like it when we get needless bookings."

At this stage last season we'd seen four yellow cards. Richie Wellens stays on track for a September suspension.

No. The earliest he could get a 5th booking would be in the Preston game. Suspensions for 5 bookings commence on the 7th day after the 5th booking - he would therefore remain available to play against Newcastle and be suspended in September.

Wellens is a very good player but I can't believe how many yellow cards he gets, he needs to try and cut out the yellow cards because we will miss him if he gets suspended.
