Does anyone know what type of lead i need to connect my pc to the tv so i can watch iplayer and live streams?

And the best one to go for and where from?

It`s a bit over my head you see.

That depends on what outputs your computer has, and what inputs your TV has.

Some computers have HDMI outputs, so using a HDMI cable would allow you to plug in to most modern televisions.

Most computers have VGA outputs, and some TVs have a VGA input, so a VGA cable would do the job.

It's worth noting, vga will only do video, hdmi will do video and audio

I did this only last week. I needed a VGA to VGA cable. As Matt has pointed out this won't carry the sound. Check on your TV as to what your VGA input is. I believe it's common to be a red and white phono connection which will connect to your PC via the headphone jack, however if your TV is like mine, it's a straightforward jack to jack connection.
