As he is under 23, does this have to go to a 'tribunal' to sort out a fair fee, or can both clubs just agree a normal transfer fee?

We're due compensation as we offered him a new contract, but as he's gone 'abroad' it won't be as much as if he'd signed for an English team.

I wouldn't tell a die-hard Rangers fan that they are not an English team :)

I liked the suggestion on the Guardian Football weekly last year of a strike force of Dodoo-Rondon!

Always a shame when a young player with promise ends up unfulfilled & turning out for a pub team when still in his early 20s.Poor lad must have had some serious problems we didn't know about to have fallen so far so fast.My heart goes out to him.

There is something wrong with our squad when talented young players leak out of it.

Dodoo decided that he was better off moving on and I don't like the implication.

Chilwell has also been angling for a move.

Beyond our best 18-20 players, we have too many getting in the way and need to clear them out.

Something wrong with our squad? We won the league last season!

We always love to see our youth players developing and the club would've obviously liked Dodoo to stay hence they offered him a new deal. Let's make no mistake though, Rangers/Scottish football Is a big step down from where we are. If he'd stayed then he would've been heading out on loan again to a Championship club maybe, whereas with Rangers he's probably been promised involvement in the first team squad

Who have we let slip out of the club that has had such a successful career after us? Other than Tommy Wright, Joe Mattock and that Pet Rescue chap?

The deep set negativity that you possess is quite incredible at times.

I can't think of any young player who hasn't been given a chance with us but then went on to prove us wrong. Not since Pat Bonner anyway, and that was 40 years ago.

It a bit of a worry. With the exception of Heskey and for a season Stearman, which ex-academy players have played in the PL whilst not at the club? We must have invested a fortune in developing 1000's of players over the last 20 years and overall, I think you've got to say it's been unsuccessful.

Russell Hoult played around 150 PL games for West Brom and Derby.

Des Lyttle played 90 PL games for Forest, Watford and West Brom.

Scott Oakes for Sheffield Wednesday.

Matt Piper for Sunderland.

Jordan Stewart for Watford.
Picky bastard with your substantiated facts. Stop ruining everyone's fun.
