Anyone used this service before? Thinking about it for work, wondered if there were any draw backs anyone had found?

We use it at work for our daily system back up. In the 8 odd months we've been using it, we have not encountered any problems.

Wow, how do you do that exactly?

Speaking as someone that doesn't understand computers..

We use a computer as a server and all files are saved to the dropbox folder on that computer. The computers in this office are networked to that PC in the traditional way.

The PC used as a server, is linked via dropbox to the equivalents in the other offices. This way, as each office updates their own dropbox folder it then updates.

Its worked ok, but it doesnt tell you if a file is already open as per a traditional server system. As such, 2 people could be working on the same file and effectively save over each others work.

You probably ought to ask someone who knows anything about computers!

I use it at work and home. Its pretty good.

Although after cancelling my home broadband a while back I had to buy a USB internet dongle to do a few things. As my home laptop had not been connected to the internet for a while Dropbox started syncing my home PC and using all my 1G allowance! (Obviously I've sinced stopped it syncing but it did make me wonder why the connection was so rubbish for a while!)

But each version is cached, so if that does happen, it's easy enough to roll back and recover from any **** ups

Been using it since it was launched and love it to little bits.

I store almost everything in Dropbox apart from sensitive data or all of my music.

My love of Dropbox has increased tenfold.

I suspect either wife or work computer conspired to erase most of my files.

Dropbox has a function where you can easily recover any file or folder deleted within the last thirty days.

Glorious.

Did that really happen or did you make it up so you could post your referral link?

I would never make up an incident about how Dropbox helped me, it is against the Dropbox code.

If you are unclear about this I suggest you go to the Dropbox website and consult what Dropbox have to say about the matter.

Also, Dropbox made my cock bigger, earned me more money and protected my pension.

Even Audi drivers can use Dropbox.
