DVD Disks etc.

I have been given a .avi file featuring a video (not a porno) and it is 1.10 GB size.

I think xVid is helping to play it

Few questions

a) What disc do I need to use to burn it on there. Means I can have the file on disc rather than on cpu

b) Can I convert or change anything to make it play on a DVD player.

Just burn it to a DVD. All depends if your DVD plays avi files as to whether it will work.

i never burnt from avi to dvd but im sure if you got nero or something similar there will be a function to make a dvd video that will convert the files into whatever they have to be to let u watch them on a VD player.

If you burn as a data disc then you will only be able to watch the file on your computer as it is exactly the same file that was on your hard drive just on a different medium (DVD).

Some DVD players will play xvid/divx files, only a minority at the moment but they're becoming more common.
I bought a cheap DVD player from Aldi that plays them, and it also has sockets for SD cards and a USB socket so you can also play files from memory sticks and external hard drives, so there's no need to burn downloaded stuff to CD/DVD any more.
