But do 35,000 people use Leicester Royal on a given matchday?

You're deliberately missing the point I feel. I don't agree with us playing second fiddle to the Tigers but there is the fact that access to and from the hospital is needed and it's bang in the middle of the two grounds

Could the Football league and the Rugby Union fixture sorters make sure that if City are home then The Tigers are away?

This has happened before (QPR & some London Rugby team?, Wigan Athletic & Wigan RL) where football and rugby teams have used the same grounds so surely this can be done to keep the regular Saturday 3pm KO.

It normally does with the rugby home and away weeks (but not the actual oppenents) sorted first and plugged into the FL computer, however there was some wrangling last summer about rugby fixtures related to internationals, so the home/away's were not sorted when the FL fixtures were done, hence more clashes this season.

In conclusion, so it's rugby's fault and City fans have to pay with the Scunthorpe game.

So does that mean it won't be an issue next season? :102:

I suppose it's ok with 80,000 at Man U as it's one ground, two sets of supporters and one game.

Reading and London Irish

Watford and Saracens

Bristol Rovers and Bristol Shoguns

Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants RL

Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps

To say nothing of the groundshares between two football clubs.

They all seem to manage with the help of the fixture makers

Good!
Plug the footy fixtures into the computer, then give the rugby the alternate Saturdays. Sorted. No Tigers fans clogging up the pubs ( or the roads for ten minutes after the match).
There's no reason why this decision should be a problem.

In previous seasons, the two clubs have had staggered kick-offs on the same day, but this does not go far enough, according to Russell, who added: “The emergency services may have concerns over public safety so there needs to be a greater degree of separation.”
On the one hand there needs to be a better reason than someone may have a problem with it so we all have to jerk our knees accordingly.

On the other hand, Adrian Russell is a good mate of mine and I don't want to slag him o-- oh, too late! Sorry Adrian...

I think in previous years it is the rugby fixtures which are programmed first then the footy ones.

also to add hull city and hull fc to the mix but its already been decided that the rugby team will play their games on a friday night instead of saturdays and sundays and they didnt tell the season ticket holders until a lot had bought/renewed!!!

What a farce!

Nottingham Rugby share with Notts County. Nottingham Rugby are due to play at home. Notts County get drawn at home in the Cup that weekend. Nottingham Rugby presume Notts County will be playing their game on the Saturday afternoon (but don't check that with them) and so arrange to play their game at Welford Road. Meanwhile Notts County realise that Notts F!"£$t are at home, so arrange to play their game on the Friday evening (but don't tell the Rugby club). So no game at Meadow Lane on Saturday afternoon - all because people in Nottingham are not bright enough to communicate with each other.

Not quite.

The rugby team usually play their home games on Sundays, presumably so they don't clash with the local football teams.

They assumed that Notts County would be playing on the Sunday, due to the trees being at home on the Saturday.

But Bradford have a JPT game the following Tuesday, which is why the FA cup game will be on the Friday night rather than the Sunday.

In which case, can't see why they can't swap it back to Notts on the Sunday, can't be that difficult to re-arrange

Thanks for clearing that up. :081:

My comment about standards of communication in Nottingham still apply.
