External CD copy writer

my laptop hasnt got a CD re-writer thingy and i was wondering if it was possible to buy a seperate one with a USB connector like an external hard drive. Does anyone know if you can buy them?

I'm not sure that I would bother with a CD-RW when you can get one that does DVDs for not many pennies more.

And why external? Internal ones are really easy to fit - if I can do it, anybody can!

Id think youll find you will only get one that does CD and DVD now.

Mine does, and I think they all do. Check the box for CD R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD R DL

If there is already a CD drive in your laptop, the manufacturers might make a Writeable/Re-Writeable drive to fit it - but it's likely to be prohibitively expensive. External will be best for you - sorry for interfering. :icon_wink

looks a reasonable price to me Scarb, much cheaper than walking in to PC World thats for sure.

I got the internal version of this one. Works fine. And it's a bit cheaper.

it will work seemlessly with the 'burn disc' button on itunes
