Tickets are invariably sold on the gate for this fixture. That number may well be enough for advance sales; if it isn't, more will be made available.

But not this season, according to the OS. All ticket, no sales on the day.

But we've heard that enough times before to know that a lot of the time it's a load of bollocks and tickets are sold on the day.

I have to go to the Portsmouth area quite a bit for meetings. I usually go M1, exit at J15A onto A43 towards Oxford, get on M40 south at J10, exit M40 at J9 onto A34, stay on this until it hits the M3 and get on M3 south, then M27 to Portsmouth.

If your journey starts a bit further west in the county you may prefer to go M69, A46 and get on th M40 that way.

That's the route I have been told and to make sure you're a good way down the M40 by 4.30.

It's not a bad idea to get on the road as early as you can. A lot of traffic will be coming away from London on a Friday so that's not normally too much of an issue. Having said that the junction with the A34 can get very busy. It's dual carriageway on the A34 so not too bad but it's often a bit clogged up when you first get on it although it tends to settle down after the first bit.
