anyone thinking about purchasing a Google Chromecast?

It chucks stuff onto the telly from a device

Cheap enough...about £30 on ebay from the USA

Although I can't see much of a point

There have been similar devices available for a while, mainly being sold by Chinese sellers on eBay.

I've been tempted by them, some have been available for around £20, but my TV doesn't have HDMI sockets so I'd have too buy a converter to use it.

Seems too restricted imo.

Better off looking into Miracast if you want your Android experience on the big screen.
