Yes that is right people, it is that time of year again and your eyes do not deceive you. It is a return of last years unofficial thread of the year!

Google's new Nexus phone expected to be released by this time next month, quite possible next Tuesday if latest rumours are to be believed.

Continuing the trend of last year of having pretty much market leading specifications but at half the price of competitor models, the new Nexus phone should be appealing for anyone looking for a new smartphone.

Improving from last years specs, now sporting a faster processor, improved camera and rumours of 3GB ram added with a 1080p screen and 4G that will grab the headlines, but still pretty pointless imo.

Should come come it at ~£250 for a 16GB model or ~£300 for 32GB which is also expected to have a larger capacity battery.

I expect to be seeing you all in the queue for one upon release seeing as it now has the essential 4G technology.

Obviously, it tells us 4G has one more G than 3G and one less than 5G, when the infrastructure is in place it will be useful but currently it isn't worth paying extra for, but you can get it for the same price on the 3 network or just stick with the Nokia 8210 and have a weeks worth of battery and snake to play.

I suggest getting an iPhone with iOS7. When someone tries to call you, by the time your phone has actually started ringing they'll have hung up. That's if your phone is even on; if your phone has been unplugged for more than an hour and you haven't altered the default values in crucial fields hidden in the depths of the seemingly infinite levels of sub-menus under 'Settings', chances are your phone is off anyway. Unfortunately you won't be able to do anything else with it either. By the time any of your apps load, your battery will be dead again.
