2007: 41 league matches played to date pulling in a paltry 1.05 points per match

In light of this, it says a lot for the rampant hope held by City fans that they still turn up in their tens of thousands for home matches forking out a not inconsiderable sum for their travel and tickets (and ever increasing levels of alcohol?).

A board in disarray, a new owner acting like he'd always loved us and promised us Premiership football within three years or we could call him a failure.

I'm tempted to start thinking of epithets for Milan already: Seven changes of management team and the signing of Geoff Horsfield, not to mention being reamed by agents during the summer.

'A Rank Amateur' are the words on my lips.

Unless I am drunk in which case they are more likely to be a collection of swear words and several references to Richard Stearman.

2007 has, on balance, been shit.

Roll on 2008.
