my old laptop broke about a year ago and only yesterday with help from an IT friend did i take out the harddive and put it in an external case. So i can use it through a USB port.

This was great as i manged to get back all the pics i have taken since 2003 such as when i went to visit my dad at his house in Latvia! i dont get to see him that often so they meant quite a lot to me as i thought they were lost.

however i went through a stage back then when using my digital camera in programming it so the date appeared at the bottom of each picture i took.

This was stupid as looking through some of pics there really quite good, however the date on the bottom in bright orange kind of ruins the whole image..so my question is there a way of removing the date from the pictures?

The easiest way would just be to crop the bottom off the image. Or is the date so big you'd end up losing something important from the picture?

its not that its too big..in some cases cropping would be fine but in others it would ruin the picture.

you could just edit it using photoshop or even paint, change the orange to black or something so it isn't so prominent.

or change it to the same colour as it's surroundings so it's virtually invisible.

could take some time but there's not really much more you can do.

thats what i thought its just there are loads of them (100s possiblity 1000s)

I just wondered if there was a package you could download that gets rid of it all.

i think any sort of package/tool would only do the same thing, only much quicker :icon_lol:

haven't seen anything like it around although it cant be too much different from red-eye removal.
