Maybe he wont need to play Waghorn, his last few games have been a waste of space,i cant get it why he persists with him, the chances hes missed have cost us dearly, unless he gets the ball on his left foot hes beaten .

I thought he was possibly our best player at Watford TBH.

And against Forest. I wasn't a fan of Waghorn's historically and I think there are better players out there (not Beckford and not necessarily ones we could get) but recently he has showed more of the form he had when he first came. I think that if he can get some confidence, he will start using his right foot more.

Agreed, end product is all that has been missing from a couple of very encouraging displays...:038::038:

To be fair to him though, he did have one cleared off the line from a right foot shot in his last game. It could be argued that he could have took it earlier but also, you can't come much closer than that to scoring imo so harsh to be critical of him there. Also, his header in the second half I'd say was good play from him resulting in a good save that not all keepers in this division would pull off. For that he beat his man to the ball and got a good header in across goal, something in which our other strikers have failed to do. Give him chance and he will start scoring as he has been showing noticeable improvements each appearance he has been making.

Seems to be a case of double standards for some with Waghorn though as Knockaert is just as one footed, if not more, and in recent games appears to have been sussed out as he hasn't been anywhere near his magical start though would always be hard to maintain.

Another thing I've noted is that he hasn't received any recognition for his assist for the first gioal against Forest. He got half a yard on his marker, used his strength to hold him off and lay it off to Dyer to whack it in.

RE Vardy. I think Pearson made a mistake in chucking him in at the deep end from the start where he would have been better gradually introducing him more and more each game in order to aclimatise to the 4 division rise in a Summer break. He may have got goals this season but Blackburn was a bag of piss down to a catastrophic error from their defense, Burnley I think at home was a very fortunate due to a massive deflection and can't really remember the Boro goal.

I'm not saying he's shit but I'm not seeing the amazingly better finisher than Waghorn as Vardy has had a lot more game time. The main difference I've noted is that Vardy's touch can often let him down and is no where near as strong on the ball but both put in a terrific work rate. Vardy may well be a better finisher than Waghorn as he did have a fantastic record at Fleetwood but that is a lot lower level than where we are.

Come the end of the season, I'd imagine they'll have a similar goals:minutes played ratio as really don't think there is much in it between them from what we have seen so far.

Yep. To say he was a waste of space in the Forest game makes me think that someone either wasn't paying attention to the game, or doesn't recognise that just because a striker doesn't score doesn't mean he's had a bad game.

If they are two of our three main striking options until the end of the season, then it does not bode well for our promotion hopes.

Not sure anyone is saying that. His work rate was obvious to see

Fact is he had two nailed on, cast-iron opportunities. First one he needed far too many touches. Second one he fluffed his header. It simply wasn't good enough

at least it will give Nuge time to fully recover from this niggling injury, imo NP would have made changes abyway as he normally does when midweek games occur

Waghorn and Vardy? No thanks

Maybe we'll see a 5-man midfield, with Marshall coming back into the side and knocky-wocky playing "in the hole".
