Getting jeffed off with premier league clubs routinely having 1 to 3 english players maximum, whilst simultaneously stock piling all the best young english talent - keeping them until they are 21 with no first team experience and then depositing them back into the lower reaches.

Essentially they piss all the foreign invested money straight back OUT of the country. Foreign clubs then invest it in great coaching, training set ups and medium standard players.

Net Result:
'English' teams dominate europe.
England team and pool of quality enough/experienced enough players dwindles by the year.

IT'S GOT TO STOP....

SQUAD SIZE LIMITS, 6+5 and wage caps need to be phased in over the next 3 years.

Yep, I get 'jeffed' off with it as you put it. I'm not sure what the solution is though.

I believe we have tried to introduce squad limits but this seems to fall foul of the EU employment laws so never gets very far.

Wage caps will just drive the best players overseas a la rugby union.

They could allow clubs to employ as many foreign players as they want, just limit the number that can play at any time. Surely if you're not limiting the number being employed it can't be illegal?

From The Times Online

Compared with the intentions announced by Fifa to impose the so-called '6-plus-5 rule', which is directly discriminatory and therefore incompatible with the EU law,

Is there not already a limit coming into the Football League next season with this? Not quite 6/5, but i think you have to a minimum of 3 English players in your XI or something. Of course its generally the PL, not the FL that is the problem with this.
