This game needs a thread.
I have to be honest and say that Leicestershire threw the game away and there was no way they were going to chase near 300 in less than a day in the fouth innings. If Leicestershire had just batted out the first innings they would of got at least 300 with 7 wickets in hand. As it is 171 and 135 doesn't bring any batting points.
Bad decision and not the first. Time for Hoggard to do the decent thing and give someone else a go at captaincy in the four day game and concentrate on his bowling.
Declaring changed an even match into a very strong position for Kent. When you have 7 wickets in hand in a first innings of a match and two set batsmen, when you declare you make sure its on your teams terms, to your teams advantage or to at least keep the game even. If its not play conservative and get the batting points and draw.
