The irish FA had their first application rejected but are set to appeal........

...........apparantley they have got photographic evidence of him drinking Guiness!!

No seriously they are trying to get him to play for them, anyone else think that this would be a massive loss to england, no necesserially at the moment but in 2-4 years time i would expect him to be in the XI if he continues to improve the way he hsa done and certainly think that he would be an excellent back up player for gerrard/lamps in the centre in the upcomming world cup.

i'd say Englands loss is Irelands gain. he's a quality player, I can't believe Sven didn't pick him in his last squad.

Nolan is a good player, but good enough for England? IMO he isnt good enough, only position we seem to lac is possibly a defence midfielder and i cant see him playing there! :icon_cry:

He's a decent player but only as good as anybody else we have as 'Back-Up' I still think Parker should go.

What happens if he chooses ROI then big Sam gets the England job..haha

If big same gets the England job we might see Kevin Davies up front! :icon_eek:

Big sam wont get the Job, neither should curbishly they both have had time at their clubs to build it up they are not impact managers, which is what is needed!

Nolan wont play for england, not as good as what we have already, Carrick or parker (maybe both) should go for defensive midfield

they'd have 2 years which is plenty of time

IMO the guy is quality but at the minute the only midfield link needed is a defencive one, and dont think that would suit him.. plus scott parker is the best english player for that position.

they don't have two years, they can't sit in the championship for a few seasons building a team to get promoted, they have to start winning as soon as they are in.
