Hey Tballers

I have have a new laptop brought back in June of this year, it was working perfectly fine untill yesterday evening 7pm when he started switching off randomly, now it can only last about 30 mins then switches off and then i have to restart it, any ideas?

Its a Packard Bell (has this turned into a Packard Hell story)

This sounds very similar to what happened with my Gateway laptop. I was sure the fan had stopped working, but later found out it was the motherboard. I'd had it for close on 3 years so had no choice but to purchase a new one.

If it's only 5 months old, you will have a warranty, so take it back to the shop / call the company you ordered it from.

The problem is if he needs it. After the first 30 days they don't just replace it, they will collect it and take it away for a couple of weeks to try to fix it.

It might be overheating, has the fan stopped working?

Have you got the ventilation holes blocked?

Well i have it on my desk all the time whilst using, and also it's is mostly plugged into the wall charger for battery

I think my best option is to take it back,

I tend to use it every evening for working outside of office purpose.
