I do feel sorry for Inler. We really pushed to sign him. He came in with a big fanfare and expectations that he'd replace Cambiasso.
His first few appearances were poor. Not because he's not good enough, but he just couldn't adjust quickly to how different the pace of the games are in England. He then loses his place to two players who are in the form of their lives.
In January, he's desperate to get a loan move away and we're going to okay it but James just isn't recovering as expected and finally totally breaks down in training. So the club cannot afford to let him go.
By now, in his fleeting appearances, it is clear that he has adjusted to the way we play and the pace but it's too late. He's not only behind Drinkwater and Kante but Ranieri prefers King to him as well. When Ranieri finally plays three in midfield on the final day, he's not only not one of those three, but he's not even on the bench.
None of it is his fault and I'd be shocked if he's still here in August.
