Why not just spend less?
You'll be better off that way, even with the generous odds on offer there's a margin of profit for the vbookie.

Surely whatever happens he WONT get the free v£20. as regardless of the outcome he will receive a payout and therefore not be on zero to receive the handout

You have misunderstood what I was trying to say - sorry, I didn't make myself clear.

Newton said that he had bet on all three outcomes "so what ever happens [he] still end up with vcash". (Hazzman later did a similar thing and said it was for the saem reason). I was trying to suggest that it wasn't necessary to bet on all three outcomes, because even if you have nothing left you will still be given v£20 when a new book opens at a time when you have nothing.

To my mind there is no earthly point in betting on all three outcomes when the same result can be achieved with less risk.
