Could he win it? Somebody has let the Algerians loose on the internet and Mahrez currently leads the polls over Ronaldo and Messi.... xD

It's voted on by National team Managers, National team Captains and one journalist from each country

So no chance.

The other year Roy Hodgson voted for Mascherano as his winner, and completely ignored Messi or Ronaldo, which shows what a complete and utter wanker he really is

A couple of weeks ago we were debating the merits of dropping Mahrez from a struggling team.

Now we're convincing ourselves that he is the best player in the world!
