A friend was getting a browser redirect, I thought it was malware. I Googled malware and followed a link. Welcome XP Anti-Spyware Alert virus and lock out. 10 days later access web allowed. Malwarebytes seemed to sort it. Now a host of Win32/Generic, Hijack.exe, Exploit Blackhole etc, etc.
I was managing to get by until tonight. I was hoping to find a talk through forum. Chrome disappeared, Modem (Skypephone 2) crashed, periodic disk spin start-up sound and keyboard hijack ( 20 mins for this).

Running AVG, Windows update off and locked out.

I'm looking for a forum that will give a walk through, or a web genius here. Thank you in advance.:icon_sad:

get a copy of windows, format, re-install. The only way you'll get it back and keep your sanity.

What exactly is it that you're looking for a walk through on? You haven't really explained the problem particularly well, it looks more of a train of thought that you've posted than anything else.

As Matt posted above, it sounds very much like it's time to back-up what ever you need, then reinstall Windows.

Turn off your internet.

Grab the stuff you need - which you'd already have if you used Dropbox.

Throw machine in bin.

Get a Macbook Pro or wipe the disk and install Linux.

And use Dropbox.

Not really any point in this if the machine is in the bin.
