There was a £40 million buy-out clause when Arsenal wanted to sign him. He then signed a new contract without the buy-out clause, which is why they were able to get more for him when they sold him.

Just looked it up, and there was a buy-out clause in the new contract he signed - £75 million. Liverpool sold him for £65 million.

The fact that Liverpool refused to accept the offer doesn't mean the clause wasn't legally enforceable.
As I said in my previous post, if Suarez had wanted to join Arsenal I'm sure there'd have been a legal challenge, either by the player or by Arsenal. If it had been Barcelona offering £40 million I'm sure we'd have seen a different outcome.

Both sound realistic targets.

I'd be very excited by Bolasie. Real talent and pace to fit in.

Deeney I'm still not sure about. Obviously started this season very well but just not sure. There's clearly interest there though - or at least was, and maybe this is recycled rumours - and can't exactly argue if our incredible scouting team is so determined to sign someone.

Got a feeling we'll go back in for Musa too.

I like Deeney. He is a natural goal scorer who coverts more than he misses when he's given the service. He offers a different kind of option up front. He's not too dissimilar to Ulloa really as he can hold the ball up and be bullish but he has the added benefit of being a much better finisher.

Bolasie would be an excellent addition.
