Re: The annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Autumn/Winter 2011-12 rumours th

What worries me is his record at Burnley. Not the goalscorer we are looking for by any means.

My thoughts exactly. I remember in the game where we beat Burnley 4-0 thinking how useless he was.

Goalscoring record isn't great, but talking to a few Villa fans who seem a bit meh about him they do say he seems to hold the ball up well. Sounds like a very similar type of player to Vassell, who imo we've missed as a player and missed his ability to hold the ball up and provide the link between midfield and attack since he's been out.

IMO will provide an option from the bench as at present we lack firepower, Howard offers very little and both Waghorn and Schlupp are out injured. this guy will provide Pearson with the opportunity to throw on a striker who will stretch defences with his pace, which is a great option when either chasing a game or in the closing stages defending a lead when he can be used on the counter attack, decent signing.

Brilliant, let's sign a striker who is a) rubbish and b) doesn't score goals. This should work out well. Surely we could have done better than this?

It'll be James Vaughan all over again :icon_conf

Brilliant, he's not kicked a ball for us yet and already he won't score and he's crap. Love it :038:

Maybe it's reverse psychology. We bring in a forward that is renowned for goalscoring and he doesn't score, so bring in a forward that doesn't score and he will start scoring, simples :)
