They told me to keep the wires and they would send out a replacement printer; they gave a newer model because they didn't have any A960's in stock (our old printer). The one we had before(A960).. the usb & fax ports/wires fit in but the battery is a different one to the printer I had before so the main battery wire doesn't fit. I've just emailed dell, so hopefully they send out a new mains wire tommorow!!

Isn't it the black thing you connect to a socket, one wire from the socket and the other to the back of the printer that is the battery

It would normally be known as a power supply or a transformer. It converts the AC mains current into a lower voltage DC current.

My laptop should hopefully be back tomorrow. They called yesterday to ask for my permission to re-install the operating system, so hopefully that was done yesterday and it will be sent out today ..... here's hoping !!

They're only a couple of quid, just ask them for a battery cable for a printer, they'll know what you mean.

It's doing exactly the same as it was before it went. I am on the phone to them now. I am demanding a brand new laptop, I want them to deliver it to me tomorrow !!!

There are ****ing screws missing, I can pull the hard drive out ... This poor chap is getting a right ear bashing. Ive told him Dell are going to suffer big time :icon_cool
