not by a country mile no, red cards, crass decisions and there are better defenders at the club. Evans and Soyunncu are far better in my opinion most importantly both can clear their lines by passing the ball to a team mate not the opposition.
Morgan is a club legend and always will be that cannot be disputed however, I think he is well and truly past it and we look far stronger with the other two paired up with Maguire.

Perhaps not all season long, maybe not, but he's been bang on the money in the previous five or six games, and I'd say better than the rest of them

He may have been complete bobbins yesterday (who wasn't FFS), but to say Evans has been better is nothing more than comedy gold

There is absolutely nothing to suggest the outcome would have been any different had the starting eleven been changed. We would still have set up defensively - it is the Puel way. They would would have wanted it more. Puel would still have made ludicrous substitutions and ridiculous tactical changes.

There's no way of knowing whether or not we'd have won with a different starting eleven but I'm pretty sure had we played Vardy and he'd have got injured there would be far more of a furious reaction to the manager than at present and rightly so.
Completely agree - we could have played our first team and still lost.

I was replying to the comment that if fans had seen the team sheet beforehand they may have not bothered coming, of which I disagreed because the majority seemed to want a number of changes (rightly or wrongly).

Evans and Soyuncu could well be better players, but they’ve hardly played this season (because of the form of Morgan). If you take the season as a whole so far, I standby that Morgan has been our best centre back. Better than Maguire has been.

Yep, bang on.

But Big Mac has a thing against Morgan, so may struggle to accept this.

All this, plus next year he's only going to be worse. Every legend has to move on one day, Cap'n Morgan's day should be the last day of this season

Yesterday showed that old Father Time was knocking on the door for a few of our league win legends

I do not have a problem with Morgan ( The guy is a legend ) I just think he has been on a downward spiral for a while, for the record I believe Maguire is a far better defender than Morgan, when was the last time you saw Maguire throwing himself to block a shot? Hardly ever that is because position wise he knows where to be and doesn't have to, Morgan however is constantly doing it because he fails to read the play.

I accept when he has played well and I will openly praise him as it is justified, I think we look far more capable without him alongside Maguire and would prefer the other two but that is my opinion.

Maguire often has to make last ditch challenges due to taking up a shite defensive position.

Ah, I see. I agree with you.

We could have done, but if we had, and they had played like they did against Chelsea and Man City we may not have lost.

We were already at a disadvantage with away ground and obviously poor pitch. Why lessen your chances more by leaving your best players out. Yes, Albrighton was stupid for the handball, but we should have been at least 4 or 5 goals up by then.

Indeed, I don't think there's anyone expiring this summer that we should re-sign or who will have an easy time finding another club at this level

I suspect if they'd seen the team sheet before they left Leicester, many might not have bothered starting the car or boarding the bus.

I suspect if they'd seen the team sheet before they left Leicester they would have said that the line-up was sufficient to beat a team in the lower reaches of the Football League. The fact that they didn't do that was nothing to do with the team selection and everything to do with attitude and performance on the day. I know that every one of those players is capable of better; now I wouldn't care a jot if I never saw at least eight of them in a City shirt ever again.

Watching Liverpool getting beaten by Wolves with a weakened team reminds me that 2016 was really the only year where I had no issue at all with us chucking away the FA Cup!

I agree with you. Personally think he has another year in the tank.

Doesn't that tell you something about the motivation they get/or don't get, from the manager? Strategy, substitutions, formation, roles etc. It is the same club and the same fans that want to cheer them on to success.

When it’s the 3rd manager they are doing it with no, it tells me all about the players
Half of them haven’t even played under three managers whilst at the club.

But I guess it doesn’t matter, as long as it fits your narrative.

Simpson remains good, and young, enough.
He's the only one on the list who it's not an open and shut case for me - but to my mind we've got two better right backs for the style we want to be playing, and a lad in the youth team who might be worth giving the occasional crack over the next season. No way can we carry another right back in that scenario.

Agreed. I just meant in regards to playing premier league football.

Big Wes, too, could probably do a decent job for a promoted side.

And I suppose I will always maintain Andy along is better than people think.
