Do you think those kind of shots should be acceptable?

Personally I see no reason to ban these kind of shots; thought it was clever and a nice shot but don't become goldfishes saying he is an "entertainer," "great man for playing those clever shots," "no-one else could play them," "its never been done before" etc; he tried it in the 20/20 world cup, he was a made a fool by playing them shots.

I've only seen reports of this and find it difficult from plain text to understand what he is doing. Is there are any video of it anywhere?

Do you want batsmen not to be able to move at all? If not, I don't see who how you can legislate against this. The reverse sweep has been happening for ages; this is just a variant with the batsman taking up position earlier in the sequence.

But the thing that amazes me is how the debate is starting now, Pieterson tried similar shots as did Dhoni at the 20/20 World Cup, yet there is just an enquiry now, why?

Because it was irrelevant before - just a novelty shot that did no harm

Now he has managed to perfect his skills to the level that he can thump the ball out of the ground, so it is now worthy of debate

I think that this is symptomatic of modern living. If someone has more skill than me, he should not be applauded, but handicapped so that I do not feel inadequate.
I first saw this manoeuvre in the 70's performed by Ian Botham and, as somebody said earlier in the thread, Pieterson's crime is to have mastered the technique.
