You can only counter teams that want to come at you - you're not saying we could have done this against Newport, Cardiff or (after losing a penalty so early) Southampton?
You can play a game such that you invite the opposition on to you. We did it perfectly for almost the whole of THAT season which is not what I’d expect to happen by the way.
Even for Soton for example - do you think they would have just sat back for the entirety of the 80 minutes they had left?

Leaving a man or two on the half way line when we’re defending corners would be a good start.

Honestly, what is the point of that? He has performed absolute miracles with that club. Getting them promoted and then staying up with their squad and resources is nothing short of brilliant.

They’re doomed, no change of manager will save them now. Why wouldn’t they want Wagner to lead them back in the PL?

Burnley had the right idea a few years ago when they were relegated but kept Dyche for the Championship.

He wasn’t sacked. His heart wasn’t in it anymore. Goes home to Germany, and away from PL

He bottled it?
The board have taken the money after so unexectedly staying up last season. It's no surprise his heart isn't in when the writing is on the wall and there's nothing he can do about it. Come the summer he'll be back in work and at a much biger club

Ah ok, not quite as bad then. Would have been a joke if they had sacked him.

Fulham look like they've got Gary Cahill.
Could do a good job for them ( a bit too late, though)
