According to fourth official we've made an enquiry into the availability of Robbie Keane. Could be a very decent signing if he gets his confidence back. Would suggest that we may have given up hope on Maynard if true
 
Not sure if he would drop down to this level.

Again, it's a question of if he can be swayed by £££ or not.

Would be an absolutely fantastic signing though which I'm sure would be the final piece in Sven's puzzle.
 
If the club are prepared to seriously spend £4-5m on Maynard, plus say £15k a week on a 3yr deal, that's a potential outlay of £6.2-£7.2m.

That figure could rise substantially if we were to sign Shane Long.

I would much rather we spend £40-£50k a week on a seriously good player, such as Robbie Keane. Even with a loan fee of approx £500k-£1m plus wages, our maximum outlay is over £1m less than any fee we've been linked with and we have no long term high wage commitment.

If this is at all a possibility, I would go all out to get him.

But we'd also have no asset at the end of the loan.
