Rooting a HTC Desire

Right then. Thanks to GiffGaff my old phone is now unlocked away from Orange and I've saved having to pay a market trader around £25.

Next job is to root the phone to get rid of all the crap Orange install on it.

I'm a bit nervy of this bit as various sites instructions seem a bit techy.

Has anybody got experience of rooting one of these phones themselves without bricking it? (Bricking the phone, NOT crapping yourself!!)

Different phone, same principle. It was relatively easy when I did it back then. The process minutiae may be different for your handset, check over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ they are good guys for help.
