Best choice really as it's about time we just accepted how good we are and stop bigging ourselves up just before every major tournament. The only people that wanted Dog Face were the people that haven't a clue about football and just get their opinions from The Sun so it will make a nice change to have a manager who is more interested in winning games than raising their celebrity profile.

'Arry is very average too, everyone goes on about what a wonderful job he has done at Spurs and saved them from relegation when he took over but any half-rated manager would have saved them and got them to where they are now with the budget that they have. Plus the only trophy he has one should be pretty much void seeing as winning it has pretty much sent the club bust and then there is the fact he's massive **** means that Roy is bar far the best choice and good luck to him!

Re: Roy Hodgson Approched for England job.

Can someone remind me what Arry has actually achieved as a manager? Especially when having to make a decent team out of moderate players, which is what the England job is all about. I would say Roy's track record in that respect is far more impressive.

Just cast your mind back 2 years when the press were all clamouring for him to become England manager after his performance at Fulham.

He may not succeed, but I have more faith in him doing it than the barrow boy

My concern is that Roy is best with underdog teams and clubs. At Blackburn and Liverpool where there were expectations and egos he failed miserably.

Harry on the other hand got a massively under-performing squad flying and even Modric, who was desperate to get out, playing well.

Liverpool was hardly his fault.

Modric wasn't desperate to leave. He had shown that he's a great player and bigger clubs came sniffing. He's continued to play well since he was told he's going nowhere.
