James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira and Brendan Rodgers have been shortlisted for Premier League awards for September.

Maddison is up for Budweiser Goal of the Month for his late winner against Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium on 21 September, an award Foxes teammate Harvey Barnes picked up the previous month for his winning strike against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Ricardo, who has scored in City’s last two Premier League games against Spurs and Newcastle United, keeping a clean sheet in the latter, has been shortlisted for EA Sports Player of the Month, while Rodgers has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for the second consecutive month.

The full shortlist is as follows:

Jetro Willems, Liverpool vs. Newcastle United
Fikayo Tomori, Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Chelsea
Moussa Djenepo, Sheffield United vs. Southampton
Jeff Hendrick, Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Burnley
James Maddison, Leicester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Aaron Cresswell, West Ham United vs. Manchester United
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Chelsea vs. Liverpool
N’Golo Kanté, Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal
Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City

I've never understood awards such as these. Who gives a feck who some dopey imbeciles decide were bestest of the best?

If there was an extra point in it, fair enough, but it's silly window dressing.

No, not ever never ever

I'm trying to think how embarrassed Howe, Lampard or Ted would be to win MOTM when Liverpool have a 100% record.
