Shader 3.0

What is this exactly? The mrs was given a comp game for xmas and everytime we try to run it, it says we need shader 3.0. After doing some research it seems we only have 2.0. I downlaoded the latest versions of direct x and everything else it seems to say we need to run it but I cant get it to run. does this mean a graphics card upgrade?

Possibly. :icon_conf :icon_conf I have had a quick look at the topic (after a few beers :icon_conf ) and it would seem to be a hardware feature. Do you know what your graphics card is?

Pixel shader is indeed a graphics card feature. Only the newer ones support 3, though it must be a fecking detailed game to need 3, what is it?

You may be able to get a firmware flash or upgrade for the card though, what is the card?

thanks for the response guys? Cant remember what the graphics card is but I thought is was a pretty dogs bollox one. Where can i find this info?

The game is Splinter Cell Double Agent.

think I have found my graphics card. An AMD ATI Radeon 9550.

She loves splinter cell. She has completed them all so far, which I haven’t Im still stuck on the first one!

Im not so lucky, the more she plays the less time she has for cleaning!
