After reading a few of the comments about RK, I myself for one, think he is the man for the job, but I question the backing he is being given by our board.
We get the same old thing (we have no money). Well the powers that be at our beloved club, take a look down the road at COV they are in DEBT as much as we are, but Micky has been given the backing by his board. Then up the road we have the sheep in DEBT more than us, but still get players in with the backing of the Board.

Yes we have bought players in, but players have gone aswell, we are very lightweight in midfield, where for me, is the main problem.

WE HAVE NO MONEY - A message to the board - If things carry on the way they are, we will have no Championship team with no fans and even less money. So you men that run our club wouldn't it be better to invest a bit more to make our great club great again? Isn't it better to speculate to accumulate?

Whatever happened to the extra million we should have got from wigan, anyone know?

Already spent mate.

We're in a far worse financial position than the other two you mention. Sheep have had a massive injection of cash and Cov are a lot more solid.

Cov's ground was partiallyfunded by thier council and the casino, our council rejected all our retail proposals, i imagine thats why.

I'd imagine we will have the best ground in league one next season though, so it's not all doom and gloom.

I would tend to agree. Although we don't want get into Administration again, we need to get a Board that shows some ambition as that permeates to the pitch. At the moment we have a no ambition board, not looking to find new ways to bring money outside the current fan base and this reflects on the pitch in terms of players and attitude.

It is only the fans, and nobody else, that is currently breathing any life into the Club. It is time for the Board to put up or piss off.

Cov's ground is actually owned by the authority, so I was given to understand by a board member at last years game with us. There was a deal done with their old ground. That's why there was no problems that we had with retail outlets. They didn't finish up with a stadium to pay for or rent as we are doing now.

One problem is that it hard to attract a money man into the club as the set up now makes it difficult for him to have a controlling share. At the moment we seem to be looking for a number of investors rather than one and that is not attractive to them unless they die-hard supporters of the club.

youll be wanting to reform the prophets of doom next, even im not quite that depressed.... yet....

I guess the board are trying to run the club as a seperate entity rather than standing as guarantors for loans or dipping into their own funds.

My guess is someone like Kinch et al will step in at the last minute and pick the club up for nothing when the shit really does hit the fan.

Not if the rent boys come knocking and we cant pay up :icon_roll

As I understand it our total wage bill this year is still one of the top 12 in the division. That kind of wage bill should produce better football and better results.

God help us if our managers had to survive on Luton's wage bill.

So its only budgeted for a mid table finish then....

12 teams have a larger wage bill

6 of wich have the parachute payment to help, which of course made us one of the 6 biggest in the league when we had it.

The only way out for Mr Davies and co is to put the club up for sale, there is no way they will succeed. I've always been a believer that 'fans' owning clubs is a bad thing unless they have a major investment to make, as we all know Mr Davies recouped most of his investment during our relegation season in bonuses. Will he return the cash to solve our weakness down the left hand side? No.

I have no belief that the current regime will take us back to anywhere near where a city the size of ours demands.

The continuous half baked ideas about name changes, what should be played before kick-off, giving away flags, ground shares and failed concerts are a just a list of more embarrassments to add to the 'cheat' jibes which we suffered in our only successful season under them.

The only things certain about them is that they will let Kelly take the flak as they did with Adams and Levein.

Some very interesting points there Bob, sounds like things are rotten from the top all the way down. How they can justify employing Jo Bucci on her, allegedly, 100k salary, it's pathethic she's allowed to take holiday during the football season! Or did she come up with the mind-blowing mundane flags idea and can now retire a happy woman.

This club is sinking fast unless Tim (nice but dim) and Ronald McDonald can get hold of some mind bending acid and have a real original idea to raise funds.

Does anyone want to give Engelbert a call?

Wicked points Bobby - I totally agree. What board? We don't even seem to know who/what they are anymore do we (cue Webbo).

We need a much stronger back-room than we currently have - that's for sure...
