Unfortunately we're not going to compete very easily with Chelsea for signings. Similarly, your mate Neto is rumoured to be a Man Utd target. We need to be looking at silver medallists, according to Rodgers, which in fairness doesn't normally work too badly for us.

Thauvin would make sense. Point to prove and loads of upside.
 
Was going to say.... "couldn't afford the wages" We can't compete (rightly or wrongly) with the 'glamour' of certain clubs, and definitely not the depth of pockets. Yet. I think that was year 5 on Rodgers' PowerPoint.
 
I honestly think the right wing position is the difference between us potentially winning the league or not.

Obviously some depth too but fully fit, our first 11 is good enough to challenge if we had a Mahrez like player and someone who could bring in a similar number of goals to Barnes.

Perez and Albrighton are very good squad players and can have their top games, but they are rarely match winners as such and to compete for the title, you need a front 3/4 that can be that.

We really should go all out for a top right winger in the summer, keep the rest of the starting 11 + Bodgers and next year could be another very special one imo.

We were happy to pay £200k a week to loan Eriksen a few weeks ago?

If we make the Champions League, I'm sure we'll attempt to bring in one or two 'gold medallists' as well as the usual silver medallists. Coutinho is a good shout. Barcelona want rid and if nobody wants to buy him, there is no reason why we wouldn't be near the top of his list for a year on loan. He knows the PL and BR well.

Chelsea may have one or two interesting options too. They have overbought players and simply have far too many. Billy Gilmour might be an option but interest in Ziyech wouldn't be ridiculous. He's on 100k a week which is top money for us but not beyond us.

I think we're verging on going over the top with our pursuit of young talent. It is worked well over the last couple of years but with several senior players moving on this summer, I think we need to mix it up a bit.

Yeah I was meaning more about competing for permanent signings, in terms of competing I guess, whereas, by definition, most loan signings at the high end (Youri included), are normally “rejects” (silver medalists) from other clubs, to a degree.
 
Ziyech though, is he all that?

I want the CL mainly so we keep our best, and that includes Brenda
