If we are dealing with the 21st century I would leave out Matt Elliot from your list as his best days were over and I would include Brian Deane.

Besides Walker (who would have been next choice), I can't think of many who have had a "couple of good seasons".

Like it says at the top of the piece, essentially it's the best of a bad bunch.

Fryatt? Probably. Wellens - definitely not, consistently inconsistent for Pearson and Hobbs was laboured utilitarian at best.

You're right regarding Wellens under NP, was thinking more of this season. Though Berner only had one good season, didn't he? I remember him being very average in League One when played largely in midfield and the less said about this season the better.

To be honest, I find the whole concept of "Top Whatever" lists particularly trite due to their subjective nature. There's more validity to synchronised swimming, pop music and Lorraine Kelly.

Berner .... my god. Like Rosso says, he's had one decent season for us. Not legendary by any standard.
