I’m not too fussed about not making the CL. I think we are probably better off in the Europa and could have a real go in that rather than getting spanked. Losing a 15 point gap and capitulating against Bournemouth and Spurs how we did is completely unacceptable. Lose a few at the start of next season and Rodgers is out of here.
Oh, please!
We didn’t capitulate today.
Take a step back
Just look at our back 4
Our 3rd, yes 3rd choice left back
Our 3rd and 4th choice centre backs and our 2nd choice right back
The left back is 19, just stepped up from kids football
The right back just stepped up from league 1 (that’s the old division 3)
Also take away the player with one of the highest assists in any team in the premier league.
Any team would suffer from those changes.

We fell apart against Bournemouth , but don’t forget we beat Sheff U since then (by the way, the only team to beat Spurs since the restart), today we just came up short

Listening to Gary Nevill about Demarai
He kept mentioning about him not getting in where it hurts.
By that he meant Gray went out wide but in a safe position, not on the last wide player.

Safe play, no risks
Sums up a fair bit of our play at times

What ?

Has he actually said that ?

He was asked if he’d be disappointed given the size of the gap we had. He shook his head, said the season is 38 games and people were wrong to look at the table after 20/25 games and think we were ‘certs’. Well he got that ****er right, I suppose.

He went on to say that we’ve achieved the goal set at the start of the season, which was to secure European football. He said it gives us ‘another crack’ at getting into the Champions’ League. ’Which for a club like us...etc etc’. Yes, Brendan - but we had it you daft twat.

Just because we don't have to sign the waste of space, doesn't mean we won't sign the waste of space.

I feel the fear setting in again!

Nah, we wouldn't... would we??? OK, all the usual caveats etc (signed last minute, only for emergencies, he did OK under the circumstances etc etc etc) but he's really not up to it for us. I'd rather we gave one of the kids a run.

Just remember Spurs were top for 13 minutes in 2015/16 and blew it

It’s a marathon, not a sprint

Who are you talking about?

Our assists this season:

8, Barnes

6, Tielemans

5, Vardy

4, Perez

3, Albrighton, Chilwell, Gray, Iheanacho, Maddison

2, Ricardo, praet
Maybe I should have said “chances”

On an aside, imagine Liverpools back 4 without VVD, TAA and Robertson.
Not such a straight forward solution !

Here's what happens:

We crawl into the Europa.

Before the season starts we're limked with 2 reasonably exciting potential signings.

They go to Everton & Spurs.

We end up in a head-to-head with Chelsea for a biggish name.

He goes to Chelsea. Chilwell goes with him.

We wind down to our 2nd tier of transfer options.

They go to West Ham & Wolves

We start to panic & throw money at a wild card signing.

He goes to Newcastle.

Maddison goes to Man U after Grealish crashes his 300K twatmobile into a bus queue in Birmingham.

On deadline day, having run out of options, Congerton signs 3 Championship players on 3 year deals. 2 of them are defensive mids.

We sign Bennett on a 2 year deal. A typo means we end up paying 6 million instead of 5.

Vardy breaks an ankle in training 3 days before the season starts.

Soyuncu goes to Spurs.

We lose 5-0 at home in the first game of the season.

To Leeds.

Crap performance today, players knackered and injured.

And we're even worse.
Certainly wasn’t a crap performance today by our boys today.
First goal was bloody frustrating
After that it was about quality of finishing.

Kane is bloody good at that
(If he wants to win anything, he needs to leave Apurs)

Crap defending for all three goals.
If you don’t take your chances when they come along, it puts extra pressure on your own defence.
The first goal was bloody unfortunate
After that we should have got back into the game before the second goal.
For the second goal, people accuse Harvey of not back tracking.
He gets back, but plays Kane onside . Can’t win
As for the third, not so much crap defending as a bloody good finish (geez, that hurt)

I don't think it was a crap performance, but it certainly was crap defending. Bennett made the same mistake for goals one and three, Barnes played Kane onside for the 2nd. In general we played some nice stuff but the defending was poor throughout.
