Well, I'm looking forward to all the different excuses we read on here explaining why Nacho looked as though he was playing with no feet and a blindfold each game.

Perez up top and bring in a body. Somebody. Anybody. Just not Nacho.

I think, given that he started ahead of Nacho at Stoke, when we went with a very strong team too, Perez will be the option he goes with while Vardy is out.

Damari Gray. He's slotted into that position perfectly before, so thinks Puel. He is available too.

Some people have suggested Barnes could end up in that position later in his career. Could be worth looking at, but who would cover his position?

Or Ricardo, with either him or Albrighton on the left

Put Barnes there and you weaken two positions not one, which is a little bit daft

Just play Perez or Nacho there and leave the rest of the highly effective working model untouched

I think Barnes up top is our strongest solution. He has started to show a bit more of a finishing touch. Especially as we have Ricardo back. Ricardo in and JJ, Timmy and Marc all keep their places as they deserve.
I don’t mind Perez in there either, now we have goals coming from Barnes and Maddison, Perez can afford to get more touches of the ball and come a little deeper to receive it (which I think he is better at than staying quiet all game and waiting for the ball over the top).
Iheanacho... shouldn’t even make the squad v Brentford.

We need a striker.

Hopefully the timing of this forces our hand.

Brendan saying he needs an attacking mid presumably means he sees Perez as a striker option instead

Barnes has never played as a striker why are people so sure he can do the job
Maybe cos he's banging them in at the moment? His positioning is good. His finishing has improved enormously and his composure is probably better than most others at the club.

Henry was a winger first....

yeah and how long has it taken him to reach that level in his position? so lets, having lost Vardy for a couple of weeks take our next biggest weapon out of his position ...

Not every winger can play centrally and Henry was one of the best players of his era
