A mate of mine was making the point about the England strikers the other night, with the perception that Roy doesn't like Vardy after the 'playing out of position' saga in the autumn. But let's not forget Roy picked him last summer when no-one would have expected it.

My thinking is that both Welbeck and Sturridge will have to be fit and have solid ends to the season for Vardy to miss out, and much will even then depend on whether he goes off the boil or looks completely useless in the friendlies next month. If he is top scorer and potentially POTY it would be a brave England manager not to pick him (but Roy could be that man!)

I think the opposite is more likely. I think Woy will pick him because not doing so would incite much criticism.

However, I don't think he should because it will be a waste of a space better allocated to a tippy tappy merchant that will better suit the style of play we will use.
