Vertical Scrolling

I had to have my hard drive replace this week and had Windows 8.1 installed at the same time on my Sony Vaio. Everything is fine but for some reason the scroll on the touchpad isn't working/has been disabled. Looking on Google it seems to be a common problem with this version of Windows but none of the commonly suggested fixes work for me as there is no 'settings' tab for the mouse.

Sounds like it 'could' be a driver issue so would be worth checking Sony's website and finding your laptop model on there as they should hopefully list all the drivers and try re-installing the most up to date one for Windows 8/8.1.

Saying that though, I'm surprised you've not had a reply already so it could be something more.

That was the problem, installed a touchpad driver from the Sony website and its working fine now.
