There's going to be a fair amount of chat on this in the next couple of weeks (trial starts on Monday), so thought it deserved it's own thread.

The Wagatha Christie case (part 2)

As the so-called ‘Wagatha Christie’ trial approaches, neither side is backing down from a case that has legal fees running into the millions, says media editor Jim Waterson.

For what ever reason, I've listened to these podcasts. General tone seems to be that BV was probably involved in the leaking, but the way libel law works Rooney has to prove specifically that BV did leak the three stories at the centre of the case - which is almost impossible as pretty much every electronic item owned by BV, JV or the agent Caroline Watt, has been lost or broken.

BV is now saying that it must have been her agent who did the leaking, which would still mean that Rooney will likely lose the case.

Doesn't exactly sound great for Vardy at the moment. She's admitted leaking stories and there seems to be plenty of discussion about leaking stories, HOWEVER to win the case, Rooney needs to prove that BV leaked those stories about her, which without the electronic evidence (partly resting at the bottom of the sea), I don't see how she can.
