Watford search for fifth manager in 10 months after sacking Slavisa Jokanovic, WTF????

Absolutely ruthless imo, so glad we didn't fire a salvo at NP this year, when are clubs going to realise that you need continuity, I didn't realise Watford were so minted, rumour has it they are after the atletico Madrid coach.:bang::bang::bang::bang:

Re: Watford Sack Manager

1) This isn't yet confirmed.

2) This isn't LCFC related so I've moved it to the appropriate part of the forum.

3) He's not going to be 'sacked', his contract is due to expire and whether it's right or wrong, he appears to have demanded a hefty sum to stay on, so the club are looking at alternative managers.

They are rumoured to be considering the former Atletico Madrid coach, Quique Flores, not the current coach (Diego Simeone).

Watford won 58% of their games while he was in charge (21 of 36), that's a pretty impressive figure.

It is, but it doesn't mean the club have to bow down to him and agree to what they must consider an absurd financial outlay. Good on Watford I say.

To keep changing managers suggests they either chose badly or there is something wrong with the board/owner/chief executive.

Patience is not always a good thing. I would guess that most people here have been able to evaluate the people they work with within a couple of months. If someone is not up to the job get rid of them as soon as possible e.g. Paulo Sousa. Don't keep them on like Peter Taylor.

Similarly if someone is good at the job keep them on even if there is a run of bad results. I believe Vichai and Top have learned this lesson; Leicester with Jimmy Bloomfield, Wolves with Mick McCarthy and Newcastle with Big Sam and Alan Pardew did not learn it.

Clearly not the extent of Mike Ashley's ambitions. Got to respect him for wanting his club to be successful and win trophies, it's just that he doesn't seem to want to spend the money that's probably going to be needed to make it happen.

Newcastle and Mike Ashley have previously stated that considering the risks attached to a cup run, it's not a path they are willing to take.

I don't believe he has turned a corner with his statement the other day. I suspect most Geordies feel the same.
