Weird lettering keeps appearing

Just thought i'd raise this, but now and again when i open threads, try to reply to them etc, I keep getting long winding text with loads of <//29gne etc (thats not actually what it says but I hope you get the gist of what I'm getting at). Only happens for me with this site. Dunno if its something wrong at my end, but i thought I should raise it anyway

I can't replicate this problem on my own PC using IE, Firefox or Chrome.

Does it happen if you use a different browser?

Not sure as i don't really use any other browsers. The problem is pretty sporadic and I don't really know what could be causing it. its not a major issue as it goes away when i refresh its just a bit annoying at times.

Have you tried opening up 'Paint' (or another graphics prog) and pasting it there as a new image?

Are you holding SHIFT whilst pressing the PrtScr key?


If you are using IE8, you are also likely to be using Vista. Can you use the snipping tool to capture the important part of the screen?

Nope I'm on xp. Ironically the worst example of this happened just now when i opened this thread

and no i still can't get a print screen. Have tried with paint etc, so just took a photo

Normally the pages are compressed before being sent by the server, and uncompressed by your browser. This makes page loading quicker. But I'm wondering if there's a problem with this which is resulting in the page being corrupted. So I've turned off the page compression for the time being, to see if this solves the problem. Please let me know if it happens again.
