City: Schmeichel, Peltier, Konchesky, Bamba, King, St Ledger, Vassell, Wellens (c) , Beckford, Abe, Nugent
Subs: Weale, Pantsil, Howard, Johnson, Dyer

4-3-3 away to a West Ham team with a very strong midfield is a bit of a gamble... Interesting to see it's last season's midfield (King, Abe and Wellens) that get the nod too.

Slow game then. :icon_roll

Interesting to see Howard back on the bench.

To do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result is a form of insanity. :icon_roll

It was a good midfield last season imo, just gone downhill this season. I remember most on here were saying our great run at the turn of the new year was largely down to our midfield 3.

All of this is true. However it did not deliver a play off place at least and this season and to paraphrase you it has looked laboured and slow. We look best when we play with pace. :icon_bigg

King has been playing (well imo) in a different role this season, maybe this will see him revert and push further forward

Dropped our best midfielder and kept our worst in the side.

I suppose this lineup means absolutely nothing, so shan't moan too much. Not the side I'd play given one game to play around with the squad.

Arsenal - Chelsea game a beaut.

If it's the same midfield that couldn't create it could have been a tactical thing though, how do you know they won't be allowed to play with more freedom (or more discipline) today?

5-3. Van Persie hat-trick!
